About my EDGE Project
This website is dedicated to recording my experiences as I traveled through the beautiful country of Romania. I took this study abroad trip to fulfill the requirement of every SUU student to complete an EDGE project. For my project specifically I studied the cultural differences between the United States and Romania. I believe this has broadened my world view, and has given my a greater appreciation of not only other cultures, but of my own culture as well.
Why Romania?
I chose this as my project because traveling the world and experiencing other cultures firsthand has always been a dream of mine. Throughout my life, I've never had the chance to travel much farther than my surrounding states, so when I saw that SUU's Psychology Department was offering study abroad programs I knew I would always regret not taking the opportunity to fulfill my dream. I chose Romania specifically because I know nothing about the culture, country or people and that intrigued me. I look forward to experiencing something completely new and foreign. As a horror fan I may have also been drawn to the fact that we made a stop at Dracula's Castle ;)
